HIGH RISK AND HAZARDOUS ACTIVITIES

1. Further Description of the Activity: Families will be tour the Port of Los Angeles aboard a 90-foot motor yacht chartered by the Port of Los Angeles. The Port of Los Angeles is the leading economic engine for Southern California and the nation. It's known for record-setting cargo operations, groundbreaking environmental initiatives, progressive security measures, diverse recreational and educational facilities, and the emerging LA Waterfront. Tours are conducted, rain or shine. The only time a tour will be canceled is due to bad visibility in heavy fog. The lower deck offers a cabin-like atmosphere with plenty of windows and seats for everyone to enjoy the tour. It is generally not necessary to take seasick preventative measures. The boat tour takes place within the breakwater, where the waters are relatively calm. Please note seasickness remedies are NOT provided by the Port or iLEAD.

2. Risks of Activity. I acknowledge that my family’s participation in this boat tour is completely voluntary. I understand that the Activity entails risks inherent in and normally associated with this activity, including special risks which may include, but are not limited to equipment failure, perils of the sea, harm caused by other vessels, acts of fellow participants, entering and exiting the water, boarding or disembarking boats, and activities on the docks. I fully assume responsibility for my family’s safety (including, without limitation, following all directions of the boat's captain and crew) while participating in the Port of Los Angeles Boat Tour, and verify that myself and my children are physically able to participate. I understand that participation in the Activity may pose risks that cannot be reduced with prudent safety measures.

3. Supervision and Safety Procedures. I acknowledge that iLEAD Schools/Learning Studios, including its officers, agents, employees, volunteers including chaperons, cannot provide continuous or direct supervision or oversight of the Activity. I will ensure that before commencing the Activity, the Student and I will review the health and safety instructions, warnings and safety-related guides provided in connection with the Activity. I will notify the school immediately if it appears that any health and safety instructions, warnings and guides or equipment are not provided or available as expected prior to the commencement of the Activity. I agree that the Student will follow all safety procedures and warnings.

4. Release of Liability. Parents/Guardians requesting a ticket for this activity, whether attending free of charge or at personal cost, acknowledge they are accompanying their learner and do not represent iLEAD in any capacity. By checking the box and signing below, parents/guardians waive all liability to all iLEAD schools and related entities. Participation is at the sole risk of the participant. Parents/guardians acknowledge their voluntary participation in this Activity and understand that there are risks associated with their participation in this Activity. These injuries or outcomes may arise from parents/guardians own or other’s actions, inactions, or negligence, or the condition of the Activity location(s) or facility(ies). Nonetheless, parents/guardians assume all risks of parents/guardians participation in this Activity, whether known or unknown to parents/guardians including travel to and from the Activity (including air travel) or any events incidental to this Activity.
